Students in the Graduate Program in the History of Art Awarded Master's Degrees

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., June 3, 2001–Williams College awarded eight students who completed the Graduate Program in the History of Art master’s degrees during Commencement exercises on Sunday, June 3.

Williams, in collaboration with the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, offers a two-year graduate program in preparation for careers in teaching and museums. Graduates of the program often follow their formal studies with curatorial or education positions at museums or enroll in doctoral programs in art history.

Those receiving degrees are:

Elise Anne Barclay from Los Angles, Calif.
Rachel Isabelle Butt from Dayton, Ohio
Jennifer E. Cabral from Provincetown, Mass.
Clare Suzanne Elliott from Wollongong, New South Wales
Anna Lee Kamplain from Birmingham, Ala.
Jennifer Wencha King from Columbus, Ohio
Jeffrey Thomas Saletnik from Bedford, N.H.
Karly Whitaker from Grand Rapids, Mich.

Anne Lee Kamplain was named Clark Fellow in recognition of her academic achievements.

Charles W. Haxthausen, Faison-Pierson-Stoddard Professor of Art History is chair of the Graduate Program in Art History.
