Soprano and Harpsichordist to Present Concert at the Clark

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., May 2, 2001–Soprano Judith Reichert and harpsichordist Victor Hill will present a recital of early vocal music at the Clark Art Institute on Sunday, May 13, at 3:00 p.m. The program, which is given in conjunction with Griffin Hall Concerts at Williams College, is free and open to the public.

Featured on the program are four selections by Handel, sung in English, and the familiar “Sheep may safely graze” by J. S. Bach. The recital also includes English songs by John Dowland, selections in Italian by Vivaldi, and four German folk songs in arrangements by Haydn.

Judith Reichert has appeared in more than 30 concerts with Victor Hill and has also been heard in recitals at the Ancram Opera House, at the Park-McCullough House in Bennington, and on Nantucket. Victor Hill is the Thomas T. Read Professor of Mathematics at Williams College; he has played more than 800 concerts throughout the U.S. and in Europe.
