WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., April 11, 2019—Frank Doelger, Williams College alumnus and the executive producer of television shows Game of Thrones, John Adams, and Rome, returns to Williams College for a talk about his more than 30-year career in film and television. In conversation with Associate Professor of Africana Studies Rhon Manigault-Bryant, Doelger will explore topics such as fantasy, artistic inspiration, the collaborative nature of creating, and the uncanny pathways back to one’s beginnings. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the ‘62 Center, Mainstage.
Tickets are required and can be reserved Tuesday to Saturday, from 1 to 5 p.m. through the ‘62 Center box office by calling 413-597-2425 or reserve online.
After graduating from Williams in 1975, Doelger notes having little direction for his career or how to use his liberal arts education. Nonetheless he persisted and found himself in the film industry. His work gives viewers a journey into highly detailed fantasy and thrilling stories, which rely heavily on collaboration with creatives, artistic inspiration, and of course insights from his time at Williams.
Sponsored by the Departments of Alumni Relations, Africana Studies, and English.
