WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., September 24, 2013—On Monday, Sept. 30, Williams College will present a screening of the film Two Sided Story. The screening will take place at 7 p.m. at Images Cinema. There will be a brief discussion following the film. The event is free and open to the public.

In the film, Tor Ben Mayor, an Emmy award-winning director, follows a group of 27 Israelis and Palestinians who take part in a project called “History through the Human Eye.” The project is led by the Parents Circle-Families Forum, a nonprofit based in the Middle East that aims to bring together Israeli and Palestinian bereaved families. The goal of the project is for both groups to acknowledge each other’s narratives. Among the participants are Orthodox Jews, Muslims, former Israeli army members, citizens of the Gaza strip, kibbutz members, and second-generation holocaust survivors. Together, they create a conflict mosaic.

The event is co-sponsored by the Program in Jewish Studies, the Gaudino Fund, the International Studies Program, the Chaplain’s Office, the Williams College Jewish Association, Congregation Beth El (Bennington, Vt.), and Congregation Beth Israel (North Adams, Mass.).
