"School Choice and Social Justice" Author Harry Brighouse to Speak

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., October 3, 2014—Political philosopher and author Harry Brighouse will present “Justice, Privilege and Elite Higher Education” at Williams College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Bronfman Science Center, room 105. This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the talk.

Brighouse is a philosophy professor and an affiliate professor of educational policy studies at the University of Wisconsin. He received a B.A. in philosophy from the University of London (King’s College) and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. Brighouse is the author of four books: School Choice and Social Justice, Justice, On Education, and The Political Philosophy of Cosmopolitanism, co-edited with Gillian Brock.

The presentation is a part of the Committee on Education Policy’s (CEP) “Why Liberal Arts?” initiative and is co-sponsored by the Psychology Department 1960 Scholars and the Program in Teaching.
