Welcome!

The Office of Communications designs, edits, writes, and produces content across a variety of communications platforms, including Williams Magazine, the college’s website, and its social media channels. We manage day-to-day media relations and can provide media training for faculty and administrators and strategic consultation on internal and external communications.

We maintain the college’s overall visual identity, provide design consultation and services, and produce video and photography that helps promote and convey the Williams story in specific, authentic, and compelling ways.

We’re responsible for developing and maintaining the college’s web presence, and we have expertise in content strategy, design, information architecture, and site usage statistics (analytics). Our web team provides consultation and development services, support of the college’s web publishing platform (WordPress), and training for faculty and staff on WordPress.

The college’s sports information group, which is part of the Office of Communications, promotes athletics at Williams through its varsity sports website, its social media presence, and media outreach.

Finally, we’re responsible for a number of online tools that help the Williams community connect internally and share information externally, including the public events calendar, campus map, Williams Switchboard, and Daily Messages. We also publish a list of many electronic newsletters and listservs produced by Williams departments, programs and offices. For more information about using the listservs, check out the Office of Information Technology’s listserv instructions.

The Office coordinates its work with partners across campus, including through the Communications Advisory Group (CAG).
